Astrology is the study of who we are. It tells us what comes easily in life, and what can be harder. We all have free will and can do almost anything we choose. Yet… some things are more natural to us.
I’m currently available for consulting engagements.
Our stars, lucky and not so lucky are described in our natal chart, a picture of the universe on the day you were born. That day has certain energetic imprints that were transferred to you at birth. They stay with you your entire life.
Sun
Our most well known planet is the Sun. It is the main energizer of our lives. At the time of your birth, it was in one of twelve areas of the sky called Zodiac signs. They are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. They each have very different and distinct natures and describe your character.
Moon
But the Sun is not the only energy describing you. You also have a moon somewhere in your chart at birth. It is also in one of those twelve signs. Maybe the same as your Sun, but most likely not. The Moon describes your emotional, intuitive and feeling side.
Ascendant (Rising)
The Ascendant or “rising sign” is the sign of the Zodiac that was on the Eastern horizon at the time of your birth. It describes your outward nature, that is how you interact with the world.
We also have seven other planets that affect us: Mercury, the planet of communication, Venus the planet of love and beauty, Mars, the planet of war, Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion, Saturn the planet of restraint and discipline, Uranus the planet of revolution, Neptune the planet of godliness, and Pluto the planet of death and resurrection.
Each chart is also divided into twelve houses, based on the rotation of the Earth. They might match the Zodiac signs but probably don’t. They are numbered 1-12 and describe various parts of our lives. The First House is about us, our personal identity. As you move through them, they become more and more about what’s outside you in the world.
And finally there are Aspects, angles between planets that describe their working with or against each other. From zero to 180 degrees.
All this put together describes who we are. This is why so much Astrology can seem wrong and not like you at all. Your Sun Sign is only one piece of an entire kaleidoscope of who you are. You can be “A Libra” that is have a Libra Sun Sign, but not seem like one at all because of the rest of your chart. This is what a professional Astrologer does. She looks at the whole complex picture and helps describe it for you so you can make better decisions about your life. She can help guide you to work with your natural abilities and offset your weak areas, we all have them. - Hope to hear from you soon! Lisanicole
